2016 QBL Coaching Transactions
Men’s
There are 6 new coaching changes with 4 new coaches to the QBL. Derek Rucker went from Gladstone to Logan, while Warrick Meehl returns to Sunshine Coast after a break. Former NZ international and 2-time NZ NBL champion as a coach Pero Cameron takes over the Gold Coast team. Former 2014 Gladstone import Brian Waters is rumoured to take the men’s team at Gladstone. Ken Furdek and Nate Tate were assistant coaches last season and were upgraded to head coaches by their respective teams. Former Maroochydore women’s coach Nathan Arousi is USC Rip inaugural men’s coach. Complete List

There are 4 coaching changes in the women’s. NBL star and former Olympian Mark Worthington gets into his first professional coaching gig with Cairns Dolphins. Former dual Olympian Fiona Hannah take over South West Metro Pirates and will be assisted by last year’s Northside Wizards coach Nikki Bairstow. Rebecca Dudic takes over Brisbane Capitals while journeyman coach Michael Van Dongen takes over as USC Rip inaugural coach.
